Getting back Dixon, I've found an article about "offbeat attractions" in Virginia which was published in the "Roanoke Times and World News" that says:
Displays lead you from Dixon's birth in Wisconsin in 1904** (she liked to say it was 1918), through her short singing career, her marriage and her meetings with presidents and celebrities.
