But the immediate, acute, and solvable problem (the inaccurate name of the conference) should not be ignored, just because there *might* be a larger, hazier problem that will not be solved today or tomorrow. Some progress is better than no progress. Personally, I have no problem with the existence of the conference, but I find its name alienating. Not everyone agrees with that assessment, but clearly some others in this thread do.
