"Reclaiming Our Narrative: Justice for Africans and the Diaspora through Reparations" AWC 2025 aligns with the African Union’s Year of Justice, calling on Wikimedians across the continent and beyond to document African histories, perspectives, and advocacy efforts for justice and reparations on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects. This challenge is an opportunity to: - Improve and create articles related to historical injustices, reparations, and African resilience. - Upload images and media to Wikimedia Commons to visually represent key moments in African history. - Translate content into African languages to ensure wider accessibility. - Engage in edit-a-thons and training sessions to collaborate with fellow Wikimedians. 📅 Launch Event: The campaign will be officially launched on May 23, 2025, with a hybrid event featuring expert discussions on the role of Wikimedia in shaping Africa’s global representation.
