Hi, Psychoslave. The projects do indeed overlap. This app owes a large debt of inspiration to Lingua Libre and their excellent work, and the README acknowledges that. It was created as an alternative to Lingua Libre's browser-based workflow, and also to address its longstanding breakage in completing the contribution loop - the LL bot that's supposed to link the Commons files to the respective Wikidata item/lexme has been broken since 2023.
It is my hope that both options continue to encourage people to contribute pronunciation recordings into the public domain. If the availability of this Android app helps even one volunteer document words and names in their language more easily, it will have achieved its goal. A.
