My contribution to OER13 was a presentation rather than a paper, and the slides plus audio are at http://repository.alt.ac.uk/2286/ (Freely licensed: ignore the Nottingham copyright statement, which is just part of their page template). A lot of people who attended EduWiki also attended OER13, and I think it's important that Wikimedia is visible there to remind the sector of our perspective and that we are involved not just in delivering content but in the issues of educational practice that also interested them. The people from academia who attend are the most receptive to Wikimedia and to open education/free knowledge in general. The topic of using open platforms to collect learning analytics is within scope of the conference, I think, so you may want to go to OER14 as part of your research, Simon. There was a lot of discussion of open access to research, and its importance to learners. The closing keynote was from the excellent Nick Shockey of the Right to Research Coalition http://www.righttoresearch.org/about/, (Nick also spoke at Wikimania this year). So the conference is a chance to influence people and to take part in discussions that affect a lot of what we want to do. Cheers,
