This upcoming Wednesday Evening (10-25) NASA is scheduled to launch STEREO spacecraft for NASA on a Boeing Delta II rocket (7925 configuration) from SLC-17B, Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Launch is scheduled at 8:38 p.m. EDT. with a window extending to 8:53 p.m. EDT. STEREO satellite separation occurs approximately 25 minutes after liftoff. STEREO, (Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory) is two identical space-based observatories that will provide revolutionary views of the Sun-Earth system. Objectives of the 2 year mission consists of researching the origin and consequences of coronal mass ejections, providing unique alerts for Earth-directed CMEs and new information regarding their propagation and associated phenomena throughout the solar system.
