Hi
SKYPE is being banded about by "NERO" (CD burning) and it's apparently the best so-far????? Take heart that within 10 years all the UK (British Telecom) will be running VOIP and so will the rest of the world so the price will stay the same yet operating costs will be lower as with most things except inflation and wages! For you and me NOW it is a lot cheaper but then we are the guinea pigs. A friend has a Internet phone and has signed up with some "provider" and regularly calls his girlfriend in Moscow on both her land-line and now for free on her computer. Gadgets to connect all you home phone to VOIP services are just emerging and will mean your computer is on 24/7. The only drawback I can tell is the clarity - it's Ok and "sharp" as in # and sound as if you are in a dance hall - viz speakerphone style. Like the motor car --- it will catch on --- eventually............. Sir Hugh of Bognor Intelligence is not knowing the answer but knowing where and how to find it!
