Will locking the BIOS prevent the use of default bios passwords?

Rebooting is the easiest way so why bother with trying to crack the screen
saver? Are these systems going to NOT have a floppy or cdrom drives? If
they do then they aren't secure & that's all there is to it. Do they have
USB ports & are the ports bootable ? Again another security problem. As my
friend Rick said password protecting the system via the bios locks the
whole machine before it has a chance to boot anything then the only way to
access the data is to physically remove the HD & put it in another system.
Encrypting the MBR does not stop me from booting another device & accessing
the HD. Beyond that one would have to lock the case to prevent the HD from being stolen.
IMHO even talking about a Screen Saver being secure is ludicrous but if all
one wants to do is keep the machine secure from the casual passer by then ok but don't think it's going to keep any one out that wants to get in. It like the lock on your front door. It's almost useless if the back door is unlocked or the windows are opened &/or unlocked.
