Been following this thread but have not responded until now. Do not remember
the basic test suggested and/or done. If it was and done, please forgive my
memory....been off Gingko for a while <G>
Remove everthing from the mobo. Remove the mobo from the case put it on the
bench (table). Re-install the CPU and cooler. Install a video card. Install
one stick of RAM ( if more than one, test each individually and test all
slots assuming the mobo does not require the slots to be filled in a certain
order.). Plug a speaker to the mobo (so you can listen for beeps). connect
the monitor. Connect the PSU. Turn on power. Listen for beeps and watch
monitor. Should get no keyboard error.
If no POST, replace video, monitor (yes, I have seen a monitor cause a NO
POST situtation. If no second monitor, disconnect and listen for beeps on
power on.), and RAM if any are available and RAM slots. Of course, it goes
without saying, change one parameter (item to you non-engineers) at a time.
Since CPU gets hot, most likely not the CPU.
If POST to keyboard error, connect keyboard and power on and use the key
that gets you into the BIOS to try to get into the BIOS. If you get this
far, then it is not one of these devices and is something that is not
connected to the mobo to include the case (Yes, I have seen a mobo not POST
in the case and did on the bench. Usually some floating ground problem.).
HTH and is not a repeat.
