I'd try the drive swap idea, but the 5.25 inch bays are too far from the 3.5 inch bays to make the connections with the cables that I have.

I believe that you have this bass ackwards as he states "the 5.25" bays are too far" away.


I have reversed the IDE cables and used the end with a small amount of space between the connectors on the motherboard end. That has worked on some occasions.

How does reversing a cable make it longer ?
