How'd you turn it off?
Tweakui will clear the document history but I don't use that so I must have done it with Eve's X-setup which is actually Xteq's X-Setup & the latest version can be had here <http://www.x-setup.net/>. There are a freeware & paid Pro versions now with the freeware being more than enough for most people.
