Oh we were discussing other kinds of tapes such as tape backups.

That does NOT mean they won't shrivel up at lower temps that what paper combusts at tho. Paper can be read even if it turns a little brown but it doesn't take much to render film or tape unusable even tho they haven't gone up in flames. The best bet would be a HD for that kind of storage even tho most catastrophic losses of data has nothing to do with acts of God.
