I think you forgot the winky after that line. ;-) Frankly I don't see what all the hoopla is about being able to drag-n-drop files in Windows Explorer which IMHO is a terrible file manager. The way I see it you're using one app to make another work the way that you want & in the mean time that app takes away from ones system overhead for what, convenience of dragging a few files over. IMHO that price alone is way too high never mind the severe lack of compatibility & the 10+ meg of disk space one looses every time they write to the disk. One could easily have a disk that is full & have only 400 meg on a 650-700meg disk. Just load up Nero when ever you want to burn to a removable disk & drag-n-drop all you want.

Why are we talking about Karen's Replicator combined with InCD & Windows Explorer when Nero does what all those 3 apps combined have a hard time doing? Sounds like he wants to backup small amounts of data to a disk which is great but I would think that burning a multi-session disk in Nero would be easier. Don't know if he has the latest Nero Suite but it includes Nero Backup that can save file sets for quicker repeated backups just as most backup programs can. Heck if he wants to backup the same things he can do that within Nero & save the iso file when it's done.

I also have a low opinion of almost anything RW...
CD-RW, DVD+RW, etc... I have read tons of complaints
on re-writables, and currently have 20-30 "bad" (or flaky)
Memorex 2.4x DVD+RW... (Unfortunately.)

I always treat RW disk with skepticism but CDRW disks these days seem pretty good. They may have finally gotten that technology right. As we've discussed before with the mini CDRs & RWs is not all of them hold the same amount of data. FWIW I have had better luck with DVD-RW disks than I have DVD+RW disks but according to <http://www.videohelp.com> the later is the worst as far as compatibility in stand alone players & I also take that to mean in computers as well.

While CDs & DVDs are great for backing things up to there is very little that can be automated with them. I have a client that just went out & bought an external WD HD just for backups at CC which had the 80g drive with 2 MIRs of $30 which made it almost half price of only $69. This client has been battling bone cancer & he wants things as easy as he can get them & loves the one touch backup that the drive can do. I highly would recommend something like this to anyone <http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Western-Digital-External-Hard-Drive-WDXUB800BBNN-/sem/rpsm/oid/99810/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do> with a stand alone system.
