The Rayovacs that I have are NiMH as well but I don't know that they hold a
charge any longer than NiCads do. I'm sure one could google something to
find what the difference in charging & recycling times are but I doubt that
it would make much difference in a mouse. Now it could definitely make a
difference in a camera's power winder that requires hi speed performance
from the batteries.
