Rick,

I beg to differ, but Nero Toolkit seems to give the drives capability with
that disk. I have a Pioneer 108 that has a hacked firmware that allows 16x
writing to all blank +/- dvds. If I check a blank Taiyo Yuden, 4x rated
disk, it indicates all available speeds, 1x to 16x. I know these disks can
write at 12x and 8x (although with about 10-20% failure versus 0% failure at
6x) but are rated at 4x.

Just my experience,

Jim Maki
