I too prefer top posting, in part because I've already read the message and
don't need to scroll past it to read the reply... and it's displayed in the
preview so I don't have to scroll at all.

My biggest complaint is about bottom posters who don't trim and I often point
out when they forgot to trim, even though I'm not normally a nitpicker - only
because bottom posters whine too much about top posters not trimming.

I dislike bottom posting because I have to scroll... which is worse is when
it's a one line reply. What a waste. Earlier today I chided a guy in another
forum for not only bottom posting without trimming, but also for moving a top
posted reply to the bottom - then replying to it at the bottom. Some lines of
the message were indented 5 or 6 times and he could have easily deleted them
and replied at the bottom of the top post. <sigh>

> But again to each his/her/their own.

Yeah... too bad the bottom posters don't agree. <g> Their argument is that it's
not "natural" because the replies don't follow the original - but neither is
IRC or IM when you are talking about multiple topics. You either adapt to the
medium or don't use it. Bottom posters (who complain about top posting) haven't
adapted.

-----Original Message-----
I prefer top post myself to me it only seems natural in normal e-mail
communication. Responding line per line sounds as if a person is either
itemizing
,scrutinizing, questioning or pointing out some fact in lieu of what was or
is being said good or bad depending on the choice of ones words and tone
that the response conveys.

Responses in a line by line chain is akin to trying to talk face to face in
a real conversation which is like trying to IM without the realtime
interaction which doesn't make it instant at all unless if you just bounce
e-mail back in forth in short one line comments as fast as one can read and
type.
