Maybe I am misunderstanding something, but the Window ME disk is not a
booting disk. When I try to run setup from the boot floppy, it complains
that there is not a Fat partition to install. It never gave me the option to
format.
That said, I had already used a floppy to boot, did an fdisk on the virtual
hard drive, formatted and then installed WinME. Went smooth as silk and made
me appreciate WinXP all the more! I wanted to see if an old game that balks
at WinXP would work, and it does without a problem. It errors out during a
WinXP install complaining about the location of a dll and that it must run
in 256 color mode. I was able to get it to run in WinXP using the
compatibility settings. But it is much smoother and less complaining with
Virtual PC. Thanks for the input.
