Firstly you should (need to) complain to that 'support person's' manager, HP sales, and HP public relations about the response ( write letters so they have to write back!) I deeply suspect that your query has just been logged as solved in 3 minutes ( bonus payment please )
Help and Support is probably a shortcut to a front end process to access HP support knowledgebase And - before you even consider reformatting the system backup all the users data, check you have all the CD's to do the restore and all the licence codes. Read the documentation to see if you need any drivers, or a list of system and driver codes from the system before you format the drive Back to the system and that Icon.. (Not having one of them systems I cannot be certain, but...) Hopefully you can look at 'properties' on that icon and see which program it should be initiating find that module and create a new shortcut to that module hopefully that new shortcut will do what's wanted and you can just replace the faulty icon, or adjust the properties of the old icon to match those of the new one. You may also be able to find the actual 'help and support' entry by clicking on start programs and looking at all the entries in the list (and sublists) presented right click on that entry and create a shortcut on the desktop JimB ----- Original Message ----- From: "Helen Gordon" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, September 02, 2005 11:21 PM Subject: Re: Help & Support > My friend has an HP computer, model (A296N), that I am helping him optimize. > When I click the Help & Support icon, nothing happens.
