Things to remember with PartitionMagic:

It's now a Symantec 'supported' product

1 - Run chkdsk etc on the partition(s) first - ensure that the file, space
allocation and indexes have no errors, crosslinks etc.

2 - Remember that for some processes PM creates a flat structure for the
files on your partition, so -
if the process fails then you can lose all the directory structuring, and
the real filenames

3 - While the process is altering the partition information on your drive,
it could find errors in the existing structure, and/or create some faults
itself
so create a backup of the partition definitions that you can restore if
needed - another reason for 4 below

4 - Avoid getting PM to do multiple processes on any partition
create, moving, converting, relabelling, setting active etc. all in 1 pass
is more likely to leave you with unrecoverable data than if you split the
process so that the analysis process checks the structure after each part of
the process
KISS

And - yes - Do make sure you have a backup of your data (the stuff you have
spent months typing in)
