The card has three possible modes for authentications:
1) WECA compliant
2) auto based on WEP
3) shared with WEP
But either the Westell is not broadcasting or the NIC is not
receiving. Doesn't that have to occur before we authenticate?
I don't know what WECA compliant is as I've never heard of it. I
suppose you could Google for it. But this confirms what I've been
saying. If I offer my hand out for a handshake & you don't even offer
to return your hand then there is no chance of a handshake & that's
what you have now. One has Wep enabled while the other does Not. I'd
enable WEP with the minimum encryption available on both & see if you
can get them to at least shake hands. You could change to the WECA
compliant which sounds as if that means no encryption at all since
it's the old name for the WiFi Alliance & try that first. One of them
should work with your current Westell POS.
FWIW I have a Westell DSL modem/router model 327w for sale if anyone
is interested. If so please contact me off list.
