The downloadable information is typically available in several formats,
including Microsoft Money, and Quicken. However, you have to
add categories yourself.
So are you saying that when the year is over and I download the data, I
have to go back over my checks and assign them to categories?
Yes. The bank has no easy way of doing that for you. Also, some banks
limit how far you can go back (6 months is typical), since the intent is
that the data be downloaded monthly, so it can be used in budgets and
cash flow forecasts.
