I had posted some stuff about AcronisTrueImage9
recently, and have backed off on the updates to that.
(Can't hit a moving target...)
I bought it as a upgrade on Oct 3? and had all sorts of minor problems.
It has undergone mutiple (re)builds since then and is very good in the
current build (2289) and another one is "in the pipeline".
I took several hundred digital camera screen shots getting the exact
things I was doing that the program did not "like". Acronis even "wanted"
lots of them. (I have ALWAYS said that when a customer talks, they
listen and try to help...)
The last I heard, there is a new build coming that fixes all the "bugs"
I have found so far...
Note I was doing all my testing with the BootCD version...
(Something I "guess" they figured people were getting away from, and
were not testing enough?)
They also took me on as a beta tester...
As I always say, test any backup solution from end to end.
(All the way, including on to a different BLANK HD...)
Better safe than sorry...

Thanks. I know that you're right about this. I used Ghost for a while, but
never trusted it, and eventually gave it up. I hear tell that True Image is
much less arcane. Will try it... Thanks for the encouragement.

I would advise a monthly or quarterly image backup in addition to your
current strategy. That would reduce your time for re-installation
significantly (you wouldn't have to re-install all of your programs again).
