For various reasons, I end up doing many fresh installs of windows (software
upgrades, hardware upgrades, problems, etc.) and am concerned by the
reference to the "primary license." My understanding is that when you
download a song, you MUST use Windows Media Player to "get a license" which
then restricts future use. If I have a problem or decide to re-install
windows, do I then lose that primary license?
Sorry, I don't have personal experience, but in looking over
WMP10, there is an option to backup/restore your licenses
to/from a location of your choice, with the recommendation to
"Periodically back up your licenses to a location other than
your hard disk."
The option is found in WMP10 under [Tools - Manage licenses].
WMP9 I believe had the same option, but am not sure.
