The 3COM NIC in use shows the IP address specified in my Linksys setup and
the default gateway is my router address, none of which has changed
recently. The IP address is the first in the range activated in the Linksys,
the subnet is 255.255.255.0.
The DNS server addresses are the generic addresses of 4.2.2.3 and 4.2.2.4,
mentioned earlier this year on this list, possibly by you??
Yes, that was me. So those TCP/IP parameters don't change when the
box loses the ability to load websites? Can you load web pages using their
IP address?
I've been away from Win98 so long that I don't remember its
peculiarities. You may have to do a refresh (repair) install
from the Win98 CD.
