Interesting! I see no changes to these keys when changing the connection
settings. Tried a * after e.g. RAS* and still nothing. Changes occur to two
keys ..\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\EnableAutodial and ..\NoNetAutodial
. Anyways, I'm monitoring these 2 and the RAS keys so we will see what we
will see when we see it, so to speak.

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\RAS
matches both RAS Autodial and RAS Phonebook changes.
I get 7 hits on RAS Autodial when changing between "dial when a network
connection is not present" to "never dial a connection".
But you are also right that some changes are written in
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
