I have a program that stopped working recently. I have un-
installed everything that I installed since it was working correctly.
The program is "Instant Feedback" from Merlin Software that I
use for eBay.
The problem is that it won't access eBay!
I tried it in SAFE MODE and it accessed eBay just fine and did its
job.
The developer, who is always "Johnny on the Spot" with replies
and offers of help, doesn't know what the problem is, but keeps
referring to my "firewall". I have it turned "OFF", so that isn't it.
And it worked before with permission through my firewall.
I don't know SAFE mode from PEANUT mode, but shouldn't that
point to something to help identify the problem?
Here's what I have already done:
1. Uninstalled every program that I have added since IF quit
connecting, making sure there were not traces left and rebooted.
2. Uninstalled the IF program itself.
3. Downloaded and re-installed the program....two or three times,
rebooting after each install.
4. Defragged my hard drive.
5. Re-set my Satellite modem.
6. Re-set my router/switch. These aren't new and it has worked
with the network right along.
5. Pulled out most of my hair.
6. Beat my wife and kicked the dogs.
What's next?
Anyone happen to be using that software? I've used it for years
without problems. Good little program.
BTW, I even downloaded and installed the program on my wife's
computer.........doesn't work there either. We certainly don't have
the same programs.
Need a guru! Apparently the developer of the program isn't
<smile>.
