The customer-accessible memory slot is on the bottom. http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins2200/en/SM/upgrades.htm
More than likely, the built-in "unremoveable" memory can be removed and is probably under the keyboard. But opening a laptop is to get at that is something the average person should leave to a professional. I wonder if any helpful Dell owner out there may be able to help me. My machine has a single SODIMM PC2700 256Mb which is built in and cannot apparently be removed. So presumably there is a single upgrade slot lurking somewhere else. At a guess under the keyboard might be the case. If so which screws need to be removed to gain access? BTW the PDF manual on the HDD entirely misses the point about the non-removable RAM - some manual!!! Any help, including off-list photos would be more than welcome.
