Good question. I always take a tour through all settings I can find,
and will look again...
From a different reply: From: "Gary VanderMolen"
I tried AVG Free but did not like the user interface.
Amen...
The program, including the Control Center and Test Center.
is very easy to understand, but VERY short on much a user can
change. I see nothing about setting file types...
I saw a message on another list THIS morning of someone having this
same problem. They "expected" and opened the ZIP and got pretty
infected. (They did not list the filename however.)
I confirmed mine were one of the commonly used names of a current
virus and deleted them.

Do you have AVG setup to scan within compressed files such as those with
the .zip extension.
I don't believe it does this by default, but I could be mistaken.
