There's plenty of room with a 12.1" screen, the only issue is with the width
of the unit in that case. The client has specified a 12.1" screen is
mandatory due to how it will be used/transported.

Width or not there has to be room for the mobo & you're not going to find a system with a 12.1" screen & a cdrom builtin just anywhere & the fact that you want it less than 4lbs only complicates matters tremendously. OBTW the last I knew cdrom drives have depth as well.

If you find such a critter to fit those specs I'm sure Diane & I & others would love to see it.

It wouldn't surprise me if you couldn't find a system to fit those specs 5yrs from now & maybe even 10yrs.

Acer Travelmate C200 is a convertible that meet all of your specs except for the weight factor which is 5.5 lbs. You're just not going to get a system that meets all those very restrictive specs. You didn't mention whether it had to have a builtin floppy drive or not as the C200 does not have one builtin.

I have a Dell L400 that is > 4 lbs but it does NOT have an internal CD/DVDrom drive but otherwise it meets your specs. What does your client need with a builtin cd drive for if he's listening to MP3's from the HD ? It's a pita to carry very many cdroms around just to listen to music when MP3s take up so little room & add no weight when travelling. IMHO at least one of those specs is going to have to take a hike.

As I stated before, good luck as you're going to need it with those specs.
