Chris, I'm not sure what it is that you want to 'edit'

could you be more explicit

ok jim, you asked for it - when running various programs,
a box opens with the header WMEGLU32.EXE - Unable To Locate DLL

containing the following:
The dynamic link library WS2HELP.DLL not be found in the specified path c:\WINNT\SYSTEM32;.;C:\WINNT\system32;C\WINNT\system;C:\WINNT;C:\WINNT\system32;C:\WINNT;C:\Program Files\Symantec\Norton Ghost 2003\.

with an OK button, and that box is on top of everything, and must be answered
before i can get back to what i was doing, which as soon as i click ok is
followed by another window with the header Program Error
containg the following:
<process has already exited> has generated errors and will be closed by
Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created.
followed by a cancel button, which changes to an ok button after the error log
is completed.
i don't know where that error log is, or what the name might be. as i am
typing this message (in wordpad) another set of the two windows mentioned
previously pops up, followed by two more sets of the same two windows; actually
it is three windows, the third having the header:MOUASNAP.EXE - Unable To
Locate DLL

containing the following:
The dynamic link library WS2HELP.DLL not be found in the specified path C:\PROGRAM FILES\MWS (followed by a lot of spaces until the next line) 4500;.;C:\WINNT\system32;C:\WINNT\system;C:\WINNT;C:\WINNT\system32;C:\WINNT;C:\Program Files\Symantec\Norton Ghost 2003\.
\SYSTEM32;.;C:\WINNT\system32;C\WINNT\system;C:\WINNT;C:\WINNT\system32;C:\WINNT;C:\Program
 Files\Symantec\Norton Ghost 2003\.
with an ok button, followed by 94 sets of the two previous windows, each with
their own ok button to press, and another window with the header:
drwtsn32.exe - Unable To Locate DLL
and containing the same message in the box with the header WMEGLU32.EXE listed
first in this message. all 94 sets of the first messages were followed by 9
Program Error boxes, the last one differing from the others in that there was
no ok button visible.
this machine has only 512mb ram, and i think i probably ran out, and was forced to reboot. reboot i did, and i lost the rest of this message, which i am now re-keying. strangely enough, i was typing a compliment to microsoft wordpad for allowing me to edit this message in a small window below the error boxes to ensure that i got all the paths and messages exactly correct, which i am sure i did. much easier said than done, as i am afflicted with diabetic neuropothy(sp?) and can use only one finger and thumb on one hand (in case you were wondering why i never capitalize anything, it is because i can't.) all the caps in the paths earlier in this message were done using the caps lock key. considering that i lost one third of this message, i retract the compliment. as i re-type this message, i have so far gotten another six sets of the first two WMEGLU32.EXE and Program Error boxes.

interestingly, my mouse cursor outside of this wordpad text window becomes my normal cursor
for 1/2 second, then an hourglass for another 1/2 second, and repeats over and over. also
worth considering is the fact that for the last couple of days, when i turn my machine on, as
the screen is opening and icons are appearing, it reboots once, then opens. i am using norton
antivirus, with recent signature updates. last week i drasticly altered my living room
computer situation, where i added a four port kvm (keyboard, video, mouse) switch, allowing me
to put one 20" and two 17" monitors in a back room and run all four of my living
room computers, two xp and two 2000, through my newest monitor addition, a nearly new 22"
viewsonic that i got for $89 at the last acp swap meet. another one coming up the last sunday
in november, located on edinger blvd. in santa anna, ca. might be the last one, judging by how
much it has shrunk the last couple of times. i sure hope not, as i've been going there more
than twenty years. also hope this message has not exceeded the limit on number of characters
allowed.
