Tiger Direct is not particularly well thought of by some. See:

http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1983.html

On some of the message boards I frequent, they are particularly castigated
for their handling of rebates [I note there is a US$180.00 rebate involved

offered but as far as dealing with the vendor, my opinion is that a healthy
dose of "Caveat Emptor" may be in order.

Maybe Tiger Direct is smart like the majority in knowing what produces the most sales.

Who goes with a vendor who has everything on the chart rated as high, especially if their price is high to cover the cost of doing business in a manner so as to earn those high ratings?

The majority go with the vendor with the lowest price, no matter what the other parts of the rating charts show, high or low.

I remember the time when quality meant so much if a vendor truly gave a super deal on price, it would scare quality conscious customers away. They felt the product was not good if the price was that low.

Vendors who truly demand quality products to resell are walking quite a tightrope in balancing quality with price and making enough sales to remain profitable.
