When I opened the message, I found that Rick Cogan had written:

Nope, Rick. It's hard-wired.
Just can't access one of the computers on the network. That's the cruz of
the matter.
I've never had a problem setting up and accessing computers on a LAN
until now. So, the culprit is my Dell Laptop.
Maybe I should call DELL and see if there's a specific reason why it
reacts that way.
