Was the MOM computer turned on when you did the NET VIEW by itself? If so, it should have showed up in the list, so that's a little off.
Poltergeist in a computer means virus, trojan, or just plain bad software. Try booting to "Safe mode with networking" and see if there's any difference in the net view results (verify IP addresses before using). If it works, then you've confirmed there's some kind of software on the laptop that's interfering. In that case, you have the choice of searching for the interfering software, or re-installing XP. Otherwise, I think your time is best spent re-installing XP. Re-install XP: http://www.windowsreinstall.com/winxphome/installxpcdoldhdd/indexfullpage.ht m Back up all data files (anything you've created or downloaded that is important) before re-installing XP. I had that in my previous message, but here it is again: NEW VIEW 192.168.0.102 LAPTOP D DISK LAPTOP-C DISK MFC6000 PRINT Auto Brother MFC-000 on DADS ShareDocs DISK The command completed sucessfully. Yes, it shows all these as you have listed. Maybe it has a poltergeist <smile>!!!!! Thanks. I'm tired of it, too.
