A likely culprit is your network connection (ie, your DSL or cable modem
connection). It might also be that your network cable's connector is
damaged or not plugged in well, or if wireless, that you and a close
neighbor are using the same wireless frequency.
A next step might be to run the software package that came from your
ISP/network vendor to test the connection. Either that or call their
support network and have them do that. If you're using a wireless
hook up, you might try changing its channel by adding or subtracting
6 from it (ie, if 11 then go to 5, if 3 then go to 9).
