Whoops, I think I have my terminology mixed up.
Wherever I typed DDR I meant Dual Channel.

Afternoon all,
I am currently running a Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard which is a DDR
memory supporting board. It has three memory slots.
I currently have 2 * 512Mb modules installed which are correctly
operating in DDR mode.
My understanding is that DDR works across pairs of memory modules. If I
were to add a third memory module would DDR still be operational on the
first two, or would it drop all three modules to the lower rate?
I'm trying to chose between the cheaper option of just sticking in an
extra 1Gb module in the final free slot, or the more expensive option of
buying two 1Gb modules and replacing both existing 512Mb ones.
Thanks,
Rob
