A friend has an HP Pavilion 4550Z running Win98. Yes, it is an old
computer. Things are a mess, so we have decided to run the recovery disk
on it.
When we attempt to do so, the recovery disk starts, then gives us an
error message that say:
This Recovery Disk is intended for use only with an HP Pavilion
Computer. If you are getting this message on an HP Pavilion computer,
call support.
We called support, but they will not help us unless we fork over $60. We
do not feel it is worth the money.
She is thinking about a new computer, but I thought someone on the list
might be able to offer some ideas. I checked the HP website for ideas,
but nothing worked.
I would appreciate any input.
