Thanks for fully reproducing the STOP screen.

Since it reports an issue with usbport.sys, the first thing I'd try is to
disconnect everything connected to USB ports (except keyboard/mouse). If
the problem stops, then re-connect items one at a time and allow enough time
for the problem to re-occur before re-connecting the next item.

If the problem keeps happening, uninstall any software or drivers associated
with USB devices. Or, check for newer versions of that software/drivers,
particularly printer drivers, at the USB device's vendor website.

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent
damage to your computer.

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart
your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software if properly installed.
If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software
manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or
software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If
you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your
computer, press F8 to selected Advanced Startup Options, and then select
Safe Mode.

This is the message from my daughter's new HP.
It is not connected to the internet.
Can anyone give us a clue to what it means.
It is running XP Home SP2 with the standard bunch of programs HP includes.
