You can get another year's licence, a complete new product with a year's
licence, or an upgrade from Symantec Online.
Alternatively, you can take cash to the 'Stores' -
Your local high-street retail shop, shopping mall (Wal-Mart) Computer
superstore, Office supplies store such as Staples' or go online to the
mail-order organisations - PCWORLD, DABS.COM. SAVASTORE etc. and get them
to
send you a new 'retail' package of a Symantec package that has a
discounted
price because of the organisation you are buying it from, and a further
'Symantec' discount on the price because it won't install unless you
already
have installed a licenced version of one of the products they market
(Symantec Upgrades usually won't accept as 'qualifying' the sort of 2
month
trial licence you get with the stuff installed on a new system, and I
believe it's not legal to install an old version of some other Symantec
package in order to get an Upgrade install to work - certainly, according
to
the boxes, very old versions probably won't work.)
I've never seen the NSW upgrade require a product verification for install.
It was always a requirement of the rebate to send in old CD, floppy, or
About page of installed app for verification. This was true as of NSW 2005.
Have they changed the upgrade install for 2006 to look for an installed copy
of an earlier or competitive app?
