Most all-in-ones will allow you to receive incoming faxes as long as you
have an answering machine attached to it also.
Why you need an answering machine is beyond me as I can't get mine to work
automatically otherwise, but that is a different subject for another series of
notes.
Which all-in-one do you own?
And I take it that you already have an answering machine, right?

I bought an all-in-one printer/scanner/copier/fax machine but all
incoming faxing has to be done manually.
The device has the capability of working automatically if I can
put my answering machine "in series" with the built-in fax modem.
Since that's not feasible, I thought that perhaps I could install
answering machine software on my PC (whose voice modem *is* in
series with the fax modem) and that would solve my problem.
Do you have any recommendations on answering machine software?
