I record video on Linux using vcr and DivX ;-) win32 codec using the avifile
library. Works perfectly and plays in mplayer better than any windoze DivX
player. However I was never able to run VirtualDub on Win4Lin. I tried with
the old 3.0 (don't remember the version, it was the first one), and
VirtualDub would freeze on startup (before I loaded any avi). Now, with the
new Win4Lin I can get VirtualDub to open, but I get division be zero error as
soon as I try to open an avi file. And that's not using Indeo, but DivX ;-)
codec. So I gave up and dual-boot to use VirtualDub.
BTW: we need a VirtualDub equivalent on Linux!!
