Hello Eric
You're talking about VMWare Fusion itself which is a mac product, not Windows.
I know this is confusing; and it's a crossover kind of world. But this group is
for the discussion of Windows. if you want to talk about the actual Fusion app
you need to be on Mac Access. If you want to talk about the configuration of
Windows apps and JFW or whatever, this is the place.
I understand this is confusing and can be frustrating.
Let's put it this way though; We have Windows 7 X64 running perfectly under
Fusion, using Window-Eyes. It didn't give us the slightest problem when we used
the correct upgrade procedure which I know some have not.
Now, if you want to discuss the actual Fusion app and the virtual machine's
configuration, let's go to Mac Access. If you want to discuss the configuration
of Windows within that virtual machine, stay right here.

Hi Gordon and list,
I just purchased VM Fusion 3 and got everything working. Then VM
Fusion 4 came out. I generally like to run the newest versions of things to
stay current. I had the impression that VM fusion 4 might work better with
Lyon then VM Fusion 3. I'm not actually sure this is true, but this is why I
wanted to upgrade.
I cloned my system then upgraded to VM Fusion 4. Though JAWS was only in 40
minute mode I tried things out. the system seemed more sluggish to me. In
both VM 3 and 4 I was using the minimal recommended amounts of ram.
I tried several tricks to get Jaws working then gave up and cloned my system
back. Occasionally I've played with the VM 4 on my cloned external drive but
still have not gotten it to work. I may do a complete instal of JAWS again but
the process with Narrator takes me a great deal of time. Plus starting a new
Machine means installing other programs as well.
I'm also wondering if maybe I'm being silly and should just stick with VM
Fusion 3. At the moment everything seems to be working fine there with Lyon.
do you think I really am missing out by staying with VM 3? I actually like the
set up of VM Fusion 3 better. I like the buttons at the top of the screen for
connecting external USB drives and such. In VM 4 I have not been able to get
those to work correctly.
So, despite my internal drive to run the newest and greatest program I'm
beginning to think I'll sit back and wait until someone can verify they have
the Windows side working with JAWS and the externals. I just don't have half
or more of a day to devote to doing it when in reality VM 3 is doing fine.
I'm just a little concerned that I'll hit a block in Lyon with VM 3 and regret
not making the move earlier.
Oh! I only have 4 gigs ram in this White case and am afraid to upgrade to 8 as
it is not supported by Apple. This may be another reason to stay with VM 3.
Best.
