Our machine actually has 107 keys, despite the fact that it is a 17-inch
notebook. But that's not the point. I will try to take some time doing a bit
of reading. My problem is that time to spend learning is very restrictive at
the moment. My time needs to be spent on production and productivity just at
the moment and I was kind of hoping there would be a basic method of navigation
which required little pre-knowledge.

OH well, looks like i'll have to try and find a little more extra time. I know
that it's kind of like expecting to be able to drive a car as soon as you jump
into the driver's seat but there it is. Thanks all for the advice. I guess
the first thing is to sort out the removal of the antiquated version already
installed.

Hello Gordon
I would remove the ancient version of NVDA before updating to the latest
release. As for better access there is improved object navigation and flat
review. I suggest you read the user's guide as this will explain what they do
and how to use them and even provide the keystrokes for both desktop and laptop
layouts.
