Hi all

It seems that Humanware is no longer a dealer of GW Micro's products. But I
would be interested in opinion regarding Window-Eyes version 8. This is one of
the things which I am considering carefully before updating to Windows 8. We
do have an upgrade license, bought at the time that Microsoft brought their
offer in which is designed to try and compete, if only for a short tie, with
Apple's operating system prices. Be that as it may, we haven't updated yet and
I'm trying to make up my mind which screen-reader to go with once I do take the
plunge and update. What's new in Window-Eyes 8 that justifies the $195.00
which I believe they are now charging for their upgrade. That price is making
me wonder whether there's much point going with the GW Micro solutions any
longer. I'm wondering whether it would be better to go with NVDA or something
like that. Is there much that NVDA won't do that you absolutely need?
Contrarily, is there much that Window-Eyes 8 will do that NVDA
and the others won't? These are all questions which I'm pondering and I
would very much appreciate opinions from users with no axe to grind either way.
