There is a bit of confusion here. When I said Mozilla, I was in fact referring to Gecko, the rendering engine (as you say, the one used in Galeon). And that one is faster, and nicer than Konqy, I used them every day side-by-side. But it is your call. Just make sure Kongy is LGPL-ed, or the patch can't go in. -- Dimi.
