We have had the same problems with the Dell tri mode cards. I don't know if there is anything that can be done - consider it's the "first" release of these devices and the quality is probably not so good.

We have not yet deployed wireless at our law school but are in the planning stages. I had a WAP here last week to test (a Cisco 1200 series, but I think it's irrelevant). A student with a Dell TrueMobile 1400 WLAN (a/b/g) integrated card tells me he is unable to stay connected for more than about 15 minutes at a time. This is true no matter where he goes - a couple locations on campus have wireless installed, with different WAP vendors, plus he has wireless at home, and he drops after 15 minutes or so in each. I noticed this on my laptop as well and coincidently, we have the exact same system with the same card. He contacted Dell support who had him download a newer driver. No difference in behavior. Anyone know what's wrong and more importantly, is this something I should be aware of before we move forward next summer?
