We have been running three small dorms and one small office building on the Cisco LRE for a couple years now. There are about 65 beds in each dorm and about 12 full time employees in the other building. The students/staff seem to be happy with the performance as I'm not seeing complaints. The longest run over a standard copper phone pair we have is around 2000 feet and that is cross connected through another building.
I would definitely recommend the LRE solution if you have copper available for your point to point links. ------------------------------------------------------ Ron Robinson, Network Architect, Bradley University 1501 West Bradley Ave. | E-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Morgan Hall Room 205F | Phone: (309) 677-3350 Peoria, Illinois 61625 | FAX: (309) 677-3460 -----Original Message----- From: Flagg, Martin D. Our local township has a scenario where running fiber would be too expensive and they already have extra phones lines. The buildings the wish to connect are about 500 ft apart and they only need 1.5Mbps between them. Martin D.
