Michael, You are absolutely right, but it still takes up more time than the key rotation.
So when rotating the key every 3 minutes, it is still unhackable. You might be able to decript the 3 minutes of traffic. We have tried the method, but see no possibility with short rotation times. It is different when you are able to crack the master key from the radius server. TTLSv1 solves that potential problem. Just a note, this was true up till a few weeks ago. http://www.ja.net/development/wireless/wag/wep-strongly-deprecated.pdf The synopis of this paper is, it is now possible to crack WEP with 1 packet, and several seconds. Most Key Rotation schemes are every 5 minutes, or more. ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/. ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/.
