hidden?

It's too bad this hotfix doesn't fix the problem where Windows will associate
with a broadcasting SSID over a non-broadcasting SSID even if the
non-broadcasting SSID is higher up in the preferred network order list.

The "Connect even if this network is not broadcasting" parameter under the
Network Name (SSID) tab got my hopes up, only to be squashed by reality.

We're still contemplating whether to announce this hotfix or not. Especially
as it requires you to install Microsoft Genuine Advantage, which could lead to
other issues.

    Lee,

We also had a number of issues with wireless on Dells and WinXP SP2.
I've also experienced the issue you're referring to about the
authentication window going to the background, but it is inconsistent.
In any case, I found the following updates to be very helpful for WinXP
SP2 and Dells with the Intel wireless chipset.

These links from Microsoft refer to patches, that I can send you if you
don't want to deal with getting them from Microsoft.

The following link is to the Intel site regarding their 2200 and 2915
wireless cards. It tells about known issues with their cards and the
    need to update the drivers.

Which wireless card? We had some issues (not specifically this one) on
Dells with Intel cards until we upgraded to the latest drivers.

Works OK on my Dell D505 with a Broadcom card.

This is not a browser pop-up, but a message bubble down near the tray
icons. And agin, it works on some machines (so far Toshibas) but not not
on the three Dells I've tried- which is very well a coincidence.

    Lee,

Just stating the obvious but have you disable the pop up blockers for
    the site issuing the certificates?
