We are evaluating enabling one or both of 802.11k and 802.11r on our Aruba controllers to improve roaming times on our 1x SSID. Before we start testing I wanted to find out if others have enabled either k or r and what your experiences have been.
In particular, this statement (from http://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ArubaOS_63_Web_Help/Content/ArubaFrameStyles/VirtualAPs/Configuring_Fast_BSS_Tra.htm) scares me: "If dot11r is enabled, iOS clients such as iPad/iPhone gen1 (limitation on iOS) and all MAC-OS clients (limitation on MAC) fail to connect to the network" Also, does anyone have a good reference for clients that have issues with k and/or r? With the exception of http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT5535, I haven't found much. ajs -- Tony Skalski Systems Administrator [email protected] 507-786-3227 St. Olaf College Information Technology 1510 St. Olaf Avenue Northfield, MN 55057-1097 ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/.
