Certainly not an option for us, being a community college means a lot of low income students. Possibly why I still see several handfuls of iPhone 4 phones (circa 2010) on my wifi. Lots of 2.4 only devices, and I don’t see that changing for a while.

We’re testing a “Rice Owls” (dual band) and a “Rice Owls 5 GHz” (uhm, 5 GHz only, of course) in limited areas, and so far, the results are positive.
